What is the story behind the name of your blog and nickname?
The name of the blog is a phrase from some softdrink commercial - luckily that commercial was not famous enough to make it sound dull.

What has been your best and worst blogging experience?
The best experiences are when designers get in touch with me to thank me for writing about their work. Anything bad did not happen so far.

What do you think/ want to happen to your blog in 2008?
I want it to grow more and more - we are working on some new features and a new layout, so we will see what will result from that.

UNTITLED is a magazine project from ~~canadian~~ NY based illustrator and graphic designer Mike Perry. The fashion magazine is printed on uncoated paper in two colours, which gives it a really special charisma. It can be ordered from his website. I ordered it together with a zine he did together with Jim Stoten.

Der Spielklassiker 'The Legend of Zelda' war nicht die Inspiration für die Namensgebung der holländische Designerin 'Zelda Beauchampet', denn diese kam sieben Jahre zuvor in Utrecht zur Welt.
Zur Zeit arbeitet sie in ihrem Studio in Eindhoven als Graphikdesignerin für verschiedene Auftraggeber. Neben ihrer Tätigkeit als freie Mitarbeiterin entstehen verschiedene Projekte mit dem Fokus auf Grafik, Mode und Schmuck. Mehr über Zelda und ihre aktuelle Schmuckkollektion 'handscape' gibt's hier:

The well known computer classic 'The legend of Zelda' was definitely not the inspiration for her name, because the dutch designer 'Zelda Beauchampet' was born seven years before in Utrecht.

The swedish Paris-based Label Burfitt decided to add a little eastern touch to their new collection, which mostly consists of tartan dresses and skirts - but with a hint of that lolita-style japanese kids are so fond of. The shoot was directed by Bedow Creative, the pictures were taken by Julia Hetta.

Die neue Kollektion präsentiert das schwedische, in Paris ansässige Label Burfitt mit einer Prise asiatischem Flair. Die Kollektion besteht hauptsächlich aus schottisch Gemustertem mit eben dem gewissen Lolita-Stil, den die japanischen Kids so lieben. Das Shooting wurde unter der Leitung von Bedow Creative produziert, fotografiert hat Julia Hetta.

Ist die Rede von Fooddesignern, dann verbirgt sich dahinter leider nicht jemand, der besonders schönes Essen gestaltet, sondern eben nur jemand, der Essen entwirft und sich unter anderem mit der Frage beschäftigt: Wie bringe ich diese Tütensuppe dazu, nicht nach Tütensuppe zu schmecken?

Im Falle der Eugene and Louise Bakery aus Belgien verhält es sich ein wenig anders. Die Belgier sind ja schon allgemein hin bekannt für ihre Kreationen aus Schokolade. Was in der Küche dieser Konditorei zusammengezaubert wird, übertrifft für meinen Geschmack aber alle Meeresfrüchtepralinen. Mit ihren fantasievollen Kreationen aus Marzipan schaffen sie sozusagen eßbare Designertoys. Hinter der 'Eugene and Louise Bakery' stecken drei Freunde und ähm... Timmy der Hund - nein, das war ein anderer Film.
Die beiden Designer Glenn D’Hondt & Sylvia Meert arbeiten eigentlich als Illustratorenduo unter dem Namen Eugene and Louise. Tinne Meermans komplettiert das Trio, das sich letztendlich hinter der kleinen Zuckerbäckerei verbirgt. Schokoladenträume und die nostalgische Liebe zu hausgemachtem brachte die drei zusammen. So entstehen in Ihrer Küche nicht nur die liebevoll entworfenen Marzipanfiguren, sondern auch ganz gewöhnlich ungewöhnliche Schokoriegel, die wirklich mobil machen. In einer wunderbar gestalteten Verpackung natürlich.

If mentioning a fooddesigner, it is unfortunately not someone who creates pretty looking meals, but someone who creates food and is mostly involved in questions like 'how am i gonna make this instant soup not taste like instant soup?'
In the case of the Eugene and Louise Bakery from Belgium it is a little bit different. Belgiums are already famous for their chocolate, but what leaves the kitchen of this bakery outshines all the seafood pralines. With their imgainative marzipan treats they are somehow creating edible designertoys.
The two designers and illustrators Glenn D’Hondt & Sylvia Meert are actually working as a duo under the name of Eugene and Louise. They teamed up with Tinne Meerman to establish the 'Eugen and Louise Bakery'. Chocolatedreams and the nostalgic love for homemade cooking is what brought them together. Results of their teamwork are not only these cute marzipan treats but also some good old fashioned chocolate bars. In a wonderful packaging of course.

cooperativedesigns is a project of Annalisa Dunn and Dorothee Hagemann who met on the MA Fashion course at Central St Martins in 2007.
The first collection, Spring/Summer08, features knitwear with key jersey pieces. The colours and patterns are just wonderful - they make me long for spring even more!

Young-Goon is convinced of being a Cyborg. She is having batteries for breakfast and giving herself some impulses once in a while. Her favoured conversational partners are lamps, vending machines and other electrical devises with whom she can connect via her grandmother's denture. When the girl is admitted to a psychiatric hospital, she meets the self declared soulthief Il-Sun (Korean Popstar Rain) kennen. Right in the middle of all the crazyness a tender romance is starting to blossom, which is threatend by the fact that Young-Goon is probably going to die if she keeps on rejecting food...

Young-Goon ist überzeugt, ein Cyborg zu sein. Zum Frühstück lutscht sie Batterien und verpasst sich auch mal selbst einen Stromstoß. Lampen, Automaten und andere elektrische Geräte sind ihre bevorzugten Gesprächspartner, mit denen sie durch das Gebiss ihrer Großmutter Kontakt aufnehmen kann. Als das Mädchen in eine Nervenklinik eingewiesen wird, lernt sie dort den selbsterklärten Seelendieb Il-Sun (die koreanische Pop-Ikone Rain) kennen. Mitten im irren Umfeld beginnt eine zarte Romanze zu blühen, die jedoch von der schrecklichen Tatsache bedroht wird, dass Young-goon sterben muss, sollte sie weiterhin die Nahrungsaufnahme verweigern …

Some time ago I already told you, I'm not really into goods made out of recycled things. But what I am really into is colourful plastic stuff. And if that colourful plastic stuff happens to be recycled - I am all for it!
Martine Camillieri, a french artists almost only works with colourful plastics. It is not always about recycling , but always about giving things another meaning. The toy cars caught my eye at Colette's online store, but be sure to take some time to check out the artists other projects on her website. It is such a happy, playful world she establishes. And to my pleasure there are also some food related projects.

Vor einiger zeit habe ich schon mal gesagt, das Recycling nicht so mein Ding ist. Aber ich bin ein ganz großer Fan von allem bunten Plastik. Und wenn dieses bunte Plastik eben recycelt ist, bin ich auch dafür zu haben!
Martine Camillieri, eine französische Künstlerin, arbeitet eigentlich aussschließlich mit meinem heißgeliebten bunten Plastik. Es geht dabei nicht zwar nicht immer um Recycling, aber meistens darum, Dingen eine andere Bedeutung zu geben.
Die Spielzeugautos haben mich sofort fasziniert, als ich durch den Online Shop von Colette stöberte. Ein Besuch der Website der Künstlerin ist ebenso lohnenswert. Sie errichtet eine wunderbar farbenfrohe und verspielte Welt mit ihren Installationen. Außerdem, sehr zu meiner Freude, gibt es auch einige Projekte, die sich um Essen drehen...

Here at the Ideal Showroom an art collective from Denmark called Artrebels worked every day on a paper installation. Besides that they also sold prints - we bought the one above. It is from Hvass & Hannibal, a duo which is also part of the collective. See more prints of them here - everything can be ordered online.

Since november there is an exhibiton going on in the NRW Zentrum in Düsseldorf on fashion photography - MODE:BILDER. The photos are taken from the collection of F.C. Gundlach, a famous photographer of the 60s himself. For the first edition of the WEAR Fashion fair in Düsseldorf, some photographs of F.C. Gundlach himself were chosen for a special exhibition which will be seen at the location of the fair.

This is the work of brasilian designer Jum Nakao. The dresses are made of tracing paper in which the textures were either engraved or laser cut. See the making-of here. At the end of the show the models destroyed the dresses. Pretty final.

Diese Kleider sind das Werk des brasilianischen Designers Jum Nakao. Sie bestehen asu Transparantpapier, in das die verschiedenen Texturen entweder eingraviert oder heraus gelasert wurden.
Das Making-of der Kleider könnt ihr Euch hier anschauen. Am Ende der Show wurden die Kleider von den Models zerstört. Ganz schön endgültig.

He now works and lives in London.

COM-PA-NY from Finland are AAMU SONG & JOHAN OLIN. The duo designs products with humor and irony and they are inspired by everyday observations. They work in all fields of design - graphic, product or fashion design. It is obvious what inspires them most: their home country Finland. A lot of products are especially designed to revive old (and almost forgotten) finnish handcrafting traditions. There was even an exhibition on this topic called 'Top Secrets of Finland' which was held at the KIASMA, the Museum for Contemporary Art in Helsinki.

There is a very interesting exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in Vienna. It is called "China - Facing Reality".
As china being a topic of many discussions around world economy, the name leaves various interpretations open. Is it the artists that more and more face reality since the country has open upt o the world? Or is it China as a country that has to face all the problems that go with such a rapid development from a more or less third world country to an industrial nation?
Anyway, the exhibition is a must see when you are near Vienna.

Da China momentan wohl DAS Thema in allen Diskussionen rund um die Weltwirtschaft ist, lässt dieser Name mehrere Interpretationen offen. Sehen hier nun die Künstler der Realität ins Auge sehen nach dem sich das Land der Welt geöffnet hat? Kat Heyes actually started studying fashion design at the St Martins College of Art and Design in London. But before graduating she realized it was not the right thing for her. Encouraged by the great Julie Verhoeven Kate did her first comission as an illustrator for no one less than GUCCI. Well that's a good way to start your career.
Now Kat is living her dreamlive while working at her own studio by the sea. *sigh*

1. POSTSECRET
This is not a blog in the usual sense (what is usual anyways). Everyone can send a selfmade postcard to Frank, who started this website. On that postcard people write down their most treasured secret. These confessions make me sad and sometimes laugh - mostly of embarrassment. But also they make me think.

Your work is made of paper. Why have you chosen for this material? Deine Arbeiten sind alle aus Papier. Wieso hast Du Dich für dieses Material entschieden?
Art first, paper was only the material to make the prototypes and models of. It was the best material to work out my ideas. But then I was really fascinated by the material behaviour and the charisma and I knew: there will be no other material who can work that way. Paper is fragile and robust at the same time – it is very patient but it also as some restrictions to it. People kept asking me what material I am going to choose to make the 'real thing' of, but the more models I was making, the more I realised it could only be paper. In the end it is an autonomous material. I worked out my designs so precisely that any question about another material will be redundant: this can definitely only be done with paper.

Zunächst diente Papier mir nur als Material für Modelle, weil es am besten meine Formsprache zum Ausdruck brachte. Bei einigen Modellen war ich jedoch so fasziniert vom Materialverhalten und der Ausstrahlung, dass ich wusste es gibt einfach kein anderes Material, was sich auf genau diese Art und Weise verhält und das Papier ersetzten oder die Modelle verbessern kann. Papier ist sehr fragil und robust zugleich. Es ist geduldig aber lässt auch nicht alles mit sich machen. Immer wieder bekam ich die Frage gestellt aus welchem Material meine Entwürfe letztendlich gefertigt werden sollten und je mehr Modelle ich machte, desto mehr merkte ich dass Papier doch auch ein selbstständiges Material ist. Letzendlich sind meine Entwürfe so präzise in Papier ausgearbeitet, das jede Frage nach einem anderen Material überflüssig erscheint: meine Entwürfe können nur in Papier ausgearbeitet werden.

How is your design process going on, how do you start with new designs?
Wie geht dein Designprozess voran, wie beginnst Du einen neuen Entwurf?
I begin every design with a rough sketch in my head – it is sometimes only a feeling about the new designs. I have an diffuse conception of the look, or a story I want to tell. Then I quickly begin working in a three dimensional way – I sculpture the paper around the body or work out some details. This is in the beginning very chaotic an only a mere scribble. With the help of a constructional computer programm i work out the patterns. This is also helpful to save myself of my own looseness. By using a computer I also come across possibillities or solutions that were not predictable.

Der Entwurf beginnt mit einer Skizze im Kopf, meist nur einem Gefühl bezüglich der neuen Entwürfe. Ich habe dann eine schemenhafte Vorstellung wie etwas aussehen soll, aber vor allem was es vermitteln soll, was es für eine Geschichte erzählt werden soll. Ich arbeite dann meistens direkt drei dimensional, mache viele Modelle aus Papier am Körper, probiere Details aus. Das ist zunächst sehr skizzenhaft und chaotisch. Mithilfe eine Konstruktionsprogramms entwickle ich am Computer die Schnittmuster - auch um mich vor meiner eigenen Ungenauigkeit zu bewahren. Im Computer stoße ich aber auch auf Möglichkeiten oder Lösungen, die eher unvorhersehbar sind.

What inspires you, what was the initial point for your final collection? Was inspiriert Dich, was war der Ausgangspunkt für Deine Abschlusskollektion?
My everlasting source of inspiration is the City and its people: how they act and react, how the architecture works on them and the other way round. It is about the flippancy, the momentariness or substitutability that surround us: images, trends, and faces of people and places not only in the real but also in the virtual world (myspace, youtube, second life ect). Especially that was also my starting point for the final collection: the variable image as a very fragile shell that is supposed to give us some protection, make us bigger, better or more special, even if it is just for one moment.

Meine stetige Inspirationsquelle ist die Stadt, die Menschen die darin leben: wie sie agieren und reagieren, wie Architektur auf uns wirkt und umgekehrt. Es geht dabei um die Flüchtigkeit, die Vergänglichkeit oder Ersetzbarkeit, die uns umgibt: Imagos, Trends, Gesichter von Menschen und Orten nicht nur in den greifbaren, sondern vor allem in virtuellen Welten wie dem Internet (myspace, youtube, secondlife etc.). Vor allem das war der Ausgangspunkt für meine Abschlussarbeit: das variable Imago als zerbrechliche Hülle, die Schutz bieten soll und größer, besser oder besonderer machen soll, auch sei es für nur einen Moment.

What are your plans for the future? Was sind Deine Pläne für die Zukunft?
Potentially I will do a master study, but only when I come accross the right academy (and enough money). In the meantime I want to enhance myself and to do projects with other people. People from the field of design, but more likely people from the theatre or film, architecture or technology.
I basically will be working in two directions. On the on hand I will continue working on an experimental basis. That means in the first place to further develop my current collection – especially when it comes to presentation. There are so many posibilities to make my collection more understandable or maybe more vivid. I could imagine to cooperate with someone to write a script based on my designs.
On the other hand I want to design a collection of wearable accessories based on my papercollection. Wether in collaboration with a fashion designer or on my own remains to be seen.
All these thing will resolve in the nearby future. What I do know is that I am going crazy if I cannot be productive.

Eventuell werde ich ein Masterstudium machen, aber nur wenn ich die richtige Akademie (und Geld) dafür gefunden habe. Erstmal will ich versuchen mich selbstständig weiter zu entwickeln und Projekte mit verschiedenen Leuten zu machen. Das können Personen aus dem Designbereich aber vor allem auch Theater, Film, Architektur oder Technologie sein. Ich möchte mit meiner Arbeit zwei Richtungen ausarbeiten. Einerseits die eher experimentelle, wobei ich meine jetzige Kollektion weiterentwickeln will - vor allem was die Präsentation angeht. Da gibt es noch sehr viele Möglichkeiten sie verständlicher, aber vielleicht auch lebendiger zu machen. Ich könnte mir zum Beispiel vorstellen mit jemandem zusammen ein Szenario zu schreiben das ausgeht von meinen Entwürfen. Zugleich will ich auch eine tragbare Kollektion Modeaccessoires entwerfen, der meine Papierkollektion zugrunde liegt. Ob das jetzt in Form einer Zusammenarbeit mit einer Modedesignerin oder selbstständig geschieht, wird sich zeigen.
Genaues wird sich in der nächsten Zeit herausstellen. Was ich mittlerweile jedoch sicher weiß, ist, dass ich den Verstand verliere, wenn ich nicht produktiv sein kann.

Well well...unfortunately, the Art.Fair.21 was not worth the money. I had not so much to do with what was exhibited, but more of the way it was exhibited. First the atmosphere (the light) was horrible - too glaring. Second there was no structure - at least I did not recognize any. On the small brochure/map there were only the names of the galleries given - you had to be an insider. In the booths themselves there was hardly any written information on the exhibited pieces. Sometimes there were books of the artists, but all in all it was just not accessible enough for a public fair. I expected more of an exhibition than the atmosphere of a classic fair.
Of course there were some pieces that caught our attention anyway and I have already been busy with collecting some more information to show you some things in the next weeks.
One highlight was the special exhibition on the International Photography Awards by Pilsener Urquell. More of it soon...

Nun...ich muss leider sagen, die Art.Fair.21 war ihr Geld nicht wert. Es lag weniger an dem, was ausgestellt wurde, als an der Art wie es ausgestellt wurde. Erstens: Das Licht war zu grell - die Atmosphere war dadurch schrecklich. Zweitens gab es keine für mich erkennbare Strukutur. Auf dem Messeplan waren nur die Namen der Galerien angegeben- da musste man sich schon auskennen. Auf den Messeständen selber gab es dann auch nur enttäuschend wenig Information in der Form von Text über die ausgestellten Stücke. Es lagen zwar manchmal Bücher aus, aber alles in allem war es einfach nicht zugänglich genug für eine öffentliche Messe. Ich hatte etwas mehr Ausstellung erwartet und etwas weniger Messe.
Natürlich gab es trotzdem Werke, die sehr interessant waren und ich sammle schon fleißig Informationen um hier in den nächsten Wochen etwas zu zeigen.
Ein Highlight war allerdings die Sonderausstellung zum International Photography Award von Pilsener Urquell. Demnächst mehr davon...

...is a magazine about Fashion & Music from Austria... A lot of lesser known lables are presented, there are good reviews on Fashion shows and interviews with bands. A big plus: it only costs 5€ and contains just a few ads. As the name says: it is an independent fashion magazine. Besides it is interesting for man and women.

You have to be either very cruel or very curious to cut open a sweet little teddy bear, rip out his guts and turn it inside out. Well, the results don't all look as bad as it sounds. The bears who get this little treatment by Kent Rogowski are kind of creepy, sometimes cute and mostly a little disturbing. Especially those with the squeak device: it looks like they get some kind of medical treatment. Nevertheless, they seem to have more personality now, what do you think?
According to the artist, kids find it less spooky than grown ups. Sweet little innocent creatures.

Man muss entweder sehr brutal oder sehr neugierig sein um einen süßen, kleinen Teddybären aufzuschlitzen, ihm die Eingeweide rauzureißen und dann sein Innerstes nach außen zu kehren. Nun, das Ergebnis sieht weniger schlimm aus, als es sich anhört. Die Bären, die diese kleine Behandlung von Kent Rogowski bekommen, sehen etwas unheimlich aus, manchmal aber auch süß und immer etwas verstörend. Besonders die mit dem Quietscher (ja das heißt so): sieht aus, als bekommen sie irgendeine Art medizinischer Behandlung. Trotzdem scheinen die Bären jetzt etwas mehr Persönlichkeit zu haben, oder was meint ihr?
Laut dem Künstler finden Kinder übrigens die Bären weniger gruselig als Erwachsene. Die süßen, unschuldigen Kreaturen.

Lotte van Tongeren is a jewellery designer from the Netherlands. Her collection 'New Diamonds' shows various pieces of jewellery that are CNC milled from different materials. My absolut favorite is the necklace. Everything that is cut out becomes a part of the necklace: the single pieces the chain is build of are for example cut-outs from the bigger parts. So you have a minimal use of material without any loss.
In case you are not in for a longtime commitment, there is also the 'Tattoo Collection'. Sounds contradictory? We are talking temporary here! The pieces of the 'New Diamonds' collection were transformed into temporary tattoos, which you can order via the designer's site.

Lotte van Tongeren ist eine Schmuckdesignerin aus den Niederlanden. Ihre Kollektion 'New Diamonds' besteht aus verschiedenen Schmuckstücken die aus unterschiedlichen Materialien CNC gefräst sind. Mein Favorit ist die Halskette. Alles was ausgeschnitten wird, wird zu einem Unterteil der Kette: die einzelnen Glieder sind zum Beispiel aus den größeren Teilen ausgefräst. Auf diese Wiese ist der Materialeinsatz minimal und es entsteht kein Abfall. Wer sich nicht lange binden will, für den gibt es noch die 'Tattoo Collection'. Klingt widersprüchlich? Es geht hier nur um Abziehtattoos! Die Teile der 'New Diamond' Kollektion wurden verwandelt in eben solche, und man kann sie auch über die Website der Designerin bestellen.

Lotte so far worked for different designers such as Orson + Bodil (which is the label of Alexander van Slobbe) or Wolf van Benthum. Right now Lotte has headed for Italy to work on the next women's accessory collection for Diesel.

I have been a fan of Yoshitomo Naras art for along time and was very happy that a gallery here in Cologne exhibited some of his work. There was not so much to see, but luckily they showed the Mini Puff Marshies - five giant heads of a girl made of fibreglass. I especially liked the colour and texture of these pieces. Also the Big Pup Head was great to see in real life, since it was bigger (it is huge) than i expected.

Ich bin schon länger ein Fan von Yoshitomo Naras Arbeiten und war sehr froh sie heute in einer Galerie hier in Köln bewundern zu können. Es waren nicht viele Arbeiten ausgestellt, aber glücklicherweise die Mini Puff Marshies, fünf überdimensionale Mädchenköpfe aus Fiberglas. Besonders fasziniert war ich von den sanften Eisfarben und der Textur. Außerdem habe ich endlich mal den Big Pup Head gesehen, einen Hundekopf, ebenfalls aus Fiberglas. Er war viel größer (riesig) als ich ihn mir vorgestellt hatte.

The name of the collection ' iRRe' (eng: mad, freaky) may refer to their -in my eyes succesful- attempt to unite streetwear and haute couture and to bring the looks from the catwalk down on the streets. With their humorous approach (exaggerated outlines and oversized pieces) they are making their point of view clear: fashion is fun!

This is such a fantastic collection: the current collection of LEW, a dutch designer duo. Some pieces are some how plaited and what sometimes looks like prints is just sewed - Patchwork so to say. I am especially in love with the pants and the blue/black/white skirt (or dress) since they look both - sophisticated AND comfy. What a brilliant combination. WANNA HAVE.

Ich bin ganz hin und weg von dieser Kollektion - der aktuellen Kollektion des niederländischen Designer Duos LEW. Manche Kleidungstücke sind irgendwie geflochten und was auf den ersten Blick aussieht wie Drucke ist genäht - sprich Patchwork. Die Hosen und der blau/schwarz/weiße Rock (oder Kleid) haben es mir besonders angetan. Sieht schick UND bequem aus - eine tolle Kombination. HABEN WOLLEN.

Recently, I discovered the TUSH Magazine while flipping through mags at the newspaper kiosk (I love to do that - instead of buying all the mags, I just flip through them. Mostly they only contain a few pages which really interest me, so I do not have to buy the whole mag, do I?) Well, as I said, I was looking through the pages of this magazine and there I made my second discovery: the publisher was Armin Moorbach - the hair - and makeup artist for the first season of "Germany's Next Topmodel". You know in this kind of shows I am always like: where do they get this people (aka the jury) from? Ah, must be someone who slept with the editor. But I have to admit Armin Moorbach was a sweetie ;-) So I did a little research on his site and have to say: he is really good and I like what he does. Here is a selection...

Kürzlich entdeckte ich das TUSH Magazin als ich durch die Zeitschriften im Kiosk blätterte (Das ist eine meiner Lieblingsbeschäftigungen - nur blättern anstatt zu kaufen. Meistens interessieren mich eh nur ein paar Seiten und dann muss man sich ja nicht direkt das ganze Heft kaufen). Chains, crystals and natural materials like shells altogether create a rather mediaeval air. Pieces like the oversized safety pin are rather out of the line.

Alex DaCorte, born in NewJersey, raised in Venezuela and living in Philadelphia, is an artist who describes his work as 'visual mash-ups'. You can say that again, Mr. DaCorte. My favourite piece also happens to be his favourite piece - a large installation called `Thieves`. It is basically a bunch of oversized fabric snakes which are hold up by hundreds of plastic strings. That´s the way I like art: loud, huge and smashed into your face. Besides having the same favourite piece of art, Alex DaCorte and I have something more in common: our first artistics steps did we take by drawing comic heroes such as Snoopy and Mickey Mouse. Well - we headed in different directions from that point on, but still...

I have to admit that I am not Kate's biggest fan. I am not saying she is not pretty and all that - of course she is. Maybe I am just yearning for somebody else to hit all the frontpages. My friend Sarah though seems to have a crush on her. That is also a reason for this post...
Together with Stylist James Brown Kate Moss has developed a new line of haircare products. The ingredients — such as murumuru butter (???), nettle, watercress, white tea and wheat germ — are combined with unique fragrances: bluebell (Kate’s favourite), rose, fern, amber and cedarwood. Sounds good, doesn't it? See here the behind the scenes video.

Ich muss zugeben, dass ich den Rummel um Kate nicht so ganz verstehe. Ich sage nicht, dass sie nicht hübsch ist -natürlich ist sie das. Vielleicht brauche ich einfach nur mal Abwechslung. Meine Freundin Sarah allerdings steht total auf sie. Das ist auch einer der Gründe für diesen Post.
Zusammen mit dem Stylisten James Brown hat Kate Moss eine Linie für Haarpflegeprodukte entwickelt. Die Zutaten - wie zum Beispiel Murumuru Butter (????), Nessel, Wasserkresse, weisser Tee und Weizenkeim - werden kombiniert mit verschiedenen Düften: Hasenglöckchen (Kate's Lieblingsduft... schon mal gehört? Thais Gusmão is a pioneer in her segment and began with her brand in 1996 when she used to sell pieces at Cultural Fairs, fashion events and some alternative stores.
The first store was opened at the end of 1998. In 2003, Thais received the title of Best Young Stylist of the year. In the beginning of 2004, she made her 1st Underwear Fashion Show in Brazil during the official fashion calendar.
Thais Gusmao designed underwear for the Barbie doll, during the Casa Cor event, and illustrated the new Adidas Adicolor in Brasil.

Last saturday I have been to a party named Select. It is a combination of a photo exhibition and a party actually. I spotted this picture and since I liked it, I asked the photographer to letting me publish it. Andy Rohde is a mediadesign student- and photography is his passion. At first I thought, the picture was taken in Berlin - you maybe heard of the Plattenbau which is a very common kind of architecture in the east of Germany. But no, also in cologne we have ugly buildings like this (who am I kidding - of course we have). Andy really did a good job to lighten up the atmosphere, though. When I was a lilttle child, one of my favourite plush animals was a panda bear. His name was Nicki - because he was so soft and cuddly (Nicki is also the german word for 'velour')! So when I see one I get those nostalgic feelings. Lately I discovered the illustrations of Heiko Windisch - and obviously he is into panda bears aswell... and monkeys.

We watched The Black Dahlia the other day. What can I say... the 40ies and Scarlett Johannson &hearts - it was just a perfect combination! She is definitely one of my favourite actresses and a fashion icon. The best word that describes her... she looks so... HEALTHY! In every single meaning of the word. Spiritually and physically. I think that is what makes her so different - not trying to be the skinniest one, not trying to be on every party picture. She simply has style.
So please - spare me pictures of those underfed twins.
