In Deutschland bekommt man die halbjährliche Publikation von Acne unter anderem in München bei Soda. Dort kann man an sich auch online bestellen - allerdings steht das Acne Magazin nicht im Shop. Aber fragen kost' ja bekanntlich nix!

UNTITLED is a magazine project from canadian NY based illustrator and graphic designer Mike Perry. The fashion magazine is printed on uncoated paper in two colours, which gives it a really special charisma. It can be ordered from his website. I ordered it together with a zine he did together with Jim Stoten.

UNTITLED ist ein Projekt von Mike Perry, einem Illustrator und Grafikdesigner aus New York. Das Modemagazin ist auf ungestrichenem Papier in zwei Farben gedruckt, wodurch es eine ganz eigene Ausstrahlung bekommt.

My favorite magazine

...is a magazine about Fashion & Music from Austria... A lot of lesser known lables are presented, there are good reviews on Fashion shows and interviews with bands. A big plus: it only costs 5€ and contains just a few ads. As the name says: it is an independent fashion magazine. Besides it is interesting for man and women.

...ist ein Magazin aus Österreich über Mode & Musik... Viele unbekanntere Labels werden präsentiert und es gibt gute Reviews von Fashion Shows und Interviews mit diversen Bands. Ein großes Plus: kostet nur 5€ und enthält wenig Anzeigen. Wie der Name schon sagt: ein unabhängiges Modemagazin. Außerdem ist es für Männer und Frauen.

DISCOVERIES

Recently, I discovered the TUSH Magazine while flipping through mags at the newspaper kiosk (I love to do that - instead of buying all the mags, I just flip through them. Mostly they only contain a few pages which really interest me, so I do not have to buy the whole mag, do I?) Well, as I said, I was looking through the pages of this magazine and there I made my second discovery: the publisher was Armin Moorbach - the hair - and makeup artist for the first season of "Germany's Next Topmodel". You know in this kind of shows I am always like: where do they get this people (aka the jury) from? Ah, must be someone who slept with the editor. But I have to admit Armin Moorbach was a sweetie ;-) So I did a little research on his site and have to say: he is really good and I like what he does. Here is a selection...

Kürzlich entdeckte ich das TUSH Magazin als ich durch die Zeitschriften im Kiosk blätterte (Das ist eine meiner Lieblingsbeschäftigungen - nur blättern anstatt zu kaufen. Meistens interessieren mich eh nur ein paar Seiten und dann muss man sich ja nicht direkt das ganze Heft kaufen). Also wie ich sagte, ich blätterte so durch dieses Heft, als ich eine weitere Entdeckung machte: der Herausgeber war Armin Moorbach - der Hair und MakeUp Artist aus der ersten Staffel von "Germany's Next Topmodel". Bei diesen Shows denke ich ja immer: woher holen die nur immer diese Leute (aka die Jury)? Ach der (ja der, Heidi duldet anscheinend keine weiteren Frauen neben sich!) wird sich schon irgendwie hierhin geschlafen haben. Aber ich muss zugeben: Armin war ein ganz ein Süßer ;-) Also habe ich mich mal auf seiner Seite umgeschaut und muss sagen: er ist richtig gut und es gefällt mir, was er macht. Hier folgt eine kleine Auswahl...

B612

While looking for magazines who are willing to publish our work I sometimes come across very special ones. I originally sent our lookbook to Kirsten Hanssen, a freelance writer and fashion journaliste, and she asked me in return if I know some salespoints in cologne for her magazine B612.

'According to B612, fashion and style are not only about coolness and clothes, but cultural phenomena that are strongly related to societal developments. The name of the magazine is taken from the book ‘Le Petit Prince’ by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. B612 is the name of the asteroid on which the main character of the book lives. His mini-planet is a condensed, simplified universe that represents the complex reality of the real world, just like fashion can be seen as a representation of larger things.
Each issue of B612 magazine will have a different theme, focusing on an upcoming or ongoing trend. The theme of issue 1 is ‘LOVELY CREATURES’. This refers to our changing relationship with animals and the fact that animals are becoming ubiquitous in fashion: from haute couture to streetwear. ‘LOVELY CREATURES’ covers a report about cow cuddling, an interview with the organization of NY Pet Fashion Week, a fashion shoot with the mascot of a leading jeans brand, and much more. B612 will appear twice a year. Issue 2 is expected in January 2008.'

One of the things I liked most: it has no ads in it. This is probably going to change in the future, I don't know. Besides that there is more text - interesting text- than in some other fashion magazines.
