F.C.Gundlach

Since november there is an exhibiton going on in the NRW Zentrum in Düsseldorf on fashion photography - MODE:BILDER. The photos are taken from the collection of F.C. Gundlach, a famous photographer of the 60s himself. For the first edition of the WEAR Fashion fair in Düsseldorf, some photographs of F.C. Gundlach himself were chosen for a special exhibition which will be seen at the location of the fair.

Seit November ist im NRW Zentrum in Düsseldorf eine Austellung über Modefotografie zu sehen - MODE:BILDER. Die Ausstellung ist eine Auswahl aus der Sammlung von F.C. Gundlach, selbst ein bekannter Modefotograf der 60er Jahre. Für die erste WEAR Fashion fair vom 8.- 10.2.08 ist eine Ausstellung zusammengestellt worden mit Fotografien von F.C.Gundlach selbst. Die Ausstellung findet auf dem Messegelände statt.

care for your bear

You have to be either very cruel or very curious to cut open a sweet little teddy bear, rip out his guts and turn it inside out. Well, the results don't all look as bad as it sounds. The bears who get this little treatment by Kent Rogowski are kind of creepy, sometimes cute and mostly a little disturbing. Especially those with the squeak device: it looks like they get some kind of medical treatment. Nevertheless, they seem to have more personality now, what do you think?
According to the artist, kids find it less spooky than grown ups. Sweet little innocent creatures.

Man muss entweder sehr brutal oder sehr neugierig sein um einen süßen, kleinen Teddybären aufzuschlitzen, ihm die Eingeweide rauzureißen und dann sein Innerstes nach außen zu kehren. Nun, das Ergebnis sieht weniger schlimm aus, als es sich anhört. Die Bären, die diese kleine Behandlung von Kent Rogowski bekommen, sehen etwas unheimlich aus, manchmal aber auch süß und immer etwas verstörend. Besonders die mit dem Quietscher (ja das heißt so): sieht aus, als bekommen sie irgendeine Art medizinischer Behandlung. Trotzdem scheinen die Bären jetzt etwas mehr Persönlichkeit zu haben, oder was meint ihr? 
Laut dem Künstler finden Kinder übrigens die Bären weniger gruselig als Erwachsene. Die süßen, unschuldigen Kreaturen.
Do I spot a Care bear on the left and the purple one above isn't it a Popples?// Sehe ich da links etwa einen Glücksbärchi und der violette oben rechts ist doch einer von den Popples?

Last saturday I have been to a party named Select. It is a combination of a photo exhibition and a party actually. I spotted this picture and since I liked it, I asked the photographer to letting me publish it. Andy Rohde is a mediadesign student- and photography is his passion. At first I thought, the picture was taken in Berlin - you maybe heard of the Plattenbau which is a very common kind of architecture in the east of Germany. But no, also in cologne we have ugly buildings like this (who am I kidding - of course we have). Andy really did a good job to lighten up the atmosphere, though. And that is exactly what made this picture so appealing to me. To see a little more of Andy's photos, visit his blog on his myspace site.

Along the winding lovely road...

Scott Hammond is one of those artists I came across on myspace. (It is a treasure chest after all...) Hammond travels America and takes pictures with his polaroid camera. I really love the vintage look of polaroid pictures and I wish I had such a camera myself.
